Technical Diving Courses

Some of Raya Divers instructors and owners are active technical divers and technical diving instructors. If you are interested about this demanding specialty area of scuba diving, we offer you basic courses to start your technical diving training. In addition, we have the raya.tek –dive team which is always looking for new adventures.
Before you can start your technical diving training, your basic training must be up to a certain level and you need to have some experience already from the recreational diving area.
This means at least the PADI Advanced Course, PADI Rescue Diver, PADI Deep Diver and Nitrox Diver Specialty Courses.
DSAT Tec Deep Diver
The DSAT Tec Deep Diver course takes you past recreational diving and immerses you in the world of technical diving. Around Phuket’s deeper dive sites you will conduct gas-switch extended no-decompression dives, decompression dives and accelerated decompression dives using air and enriched air to a depth of 50 meters. You will learn to understand the hazards and risks involved in technical diving and how to act in different problem situations. The course includes 12 dives and can be done in 8 days. Price of the DSAT Tec Deep Diver Course is 45.000 Thb and the course price does not include equipment. Equipment can be rented, please contact us by email for more information.
Prerequisites for the DSAT Tec Deep Diver Course:
• Normal health (click here to check details)
• Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• Be certified as a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or qualifying Nitrox-certification from another organization)
• Be certified as a PADI Deep Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• Have a minimum of 100 logged dives of which 20 must be enriched air dives, 25 dives must be deeper than 18 metres/60 feet and at least 15 dives must be deeper than 30 metres/100 feet
• Be 18 years or older
DSAT Gas Blender Course
More people are diving with enriched air and this means the demand for enriched air fills is also increasing. However, there needs to be someone qualified to administer these fills to meet this demand. This is where the DSAT Gas Blender course comes in.
The course includes self study, theory lessons and practical session in technical diving filling stations. You will become a qualified gas blender, allowing you to provide gas mixes to appropriately certified consumers who need Enriched air mixes. You learn the physical properties of oxygen, its associated hazards, handling requirements and what cleaning equipment is necessary to use. The course can be done in 1 day and costs 6.000 Thb.
Prerequisites for the DSAT Gas Blender Course:
• Be certified as a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or qualifying Nitrox-certification from another organization)
• Be 18 years or older
