Diving in Koh Lanta – Quiet beaches and fantastic dive sites

Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta is about 25 km long island and has slowly developed into a beautiful holiday destination. The island has several different beaches on the west coast and there are various levels of accommodation that suits every budget from cheap bamboo huts to 5-star luxury resorts.

Beaches are very quiet and there are no jet-skis, parasailing or other motor sports on the beach. As soon as you arrive to Koh Lanta you feel like being in a real tropical paradise.

Hotels, restaurants and little beach bars are located at the many different beaches and at the northern tip of the island there is a little “town center” with its services.

Koh Lanta is also ideally located when wanting to go scuba diving, there are several dive sites for all experience levels. Beginners can explore the southern dive sites of Phi Phi Lei Island and the shallow sites of Koh Haa Yai. They are all suitable for easy shallow dives with lots of soft corals and marine life. More experienced divers fancy Hin Daeng and Hin Muang with their vertical drop offs and larger pelagics. In addition, Koh Haa Yai offers interesting cave and cavern dives for the experienced divers.
