Krabi – how to get there
Krabi and especially the Ao Nang area have been growing fast to become a very popular holiday destination, so it’s now very easy to get there. You can either take a package tour or just book the flights there and Raya Divers can make your hotel and transfer bookings for you.
Easiest ways to get there below:
Package tours:
Most of the tour operators have ready made packages for having 1-3 weeks holiday in Krabi. It’s the easiest way to travel and normally the cheapest option.
Individual trips by plane:
Make a reservation for plane tickets by internet or from any travel agency to go straight to Krabi or Phuket airports (From Krabi airport to Ao Nang is 30 minutes, from Phuket airport it is 2 hours). If you book all your flights beforehand your luggage will be checked-in all the way to Krabi. The other option is to book a flight arriving to Bangkok and buy a domestic flight ticket to Krabi directly from the airport. There are a lot of local airways (Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Phuket Air, Andaman Air, 1-2 Go, Nok Air, Air Asia) which will take you either to Krabi or Phuket, from where you can take a taxi to Ao Nang. Smaller airlines often have special offers, 
It is possible to save a lot of money on domestic flights. The bad part being, that you have to take your luggage in Bangkok and either walk 1.5 km or take a taxi to the Domestic terminal. We will be happy to take care of your hotel bookings and/or transfers in Krabi. We do not handle flight bookings though.
Individual trips by plane/bus:
Make a reservation for plane tickets by internet or from your travel agency to Bangkok. On your arrival in Bangkok take a taxi from the airport to the Southern bus terminal. If you are going to spend some time in Bangkok before continuing to Krabi you can buy bus tickets from any local travel agency.
We recommend VIP buses, which are air conditioned (it’s really cold in the buses, so have something warm with long sleeves with you). There are several departures daily and the trip takes 13-15 hours. On your arrival in Krabi town’s bus station, take a taxi to Ao Nang.
If you like, we can do your hotel bookings in Krabi. We do not book flight or bus tickets.
From other Raya Divers destinations (Phuket, Khao Lak, Raya Yai, Lanta):
From Phuket or Khao Lak you can take a local bus (cheap but slow), minibus (little bit more expensive, but much faster) or air conditioned taxi ordered from Raya Divers (the costliest but fastest option) to Krabi. The easiest way to buy bus tickets is from local travel agencies.
Daily speedboat from Raya Island leaves about 15.00 to Phuket, so you can continue on the same day by local bus, minibus or taxi to Krabi Ao Nang. from Lanta Island Raya Divers can also arrange a taxi from your hotel that takes app 2 hrs depending on the car ferry connections as you need to cross the sea by 2 car ferry's to get back to the main road for the drive to Krabi.
