PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course
The Advanced Open Water Diver Course is the Open Water Diver’s next step to gain more experience. As an Advanced Open Water Diver, you are allowed to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters together with a certified diver as a buddy(12-14 year old junior maximum is 21 meters). You can complete the whole program in 2 days (1st day 2 Adventure Dives, 2nd day 3 Adventure dives). Later you can enroll into the other continuing education programs like the Rescue Diver Course or Specialty Courses.
The aim of the course is to introduce to a diver several different diving specialty areas. At Raya Divers, we will always build the program together carefully with the students, letting you decide what kind of dives you are actually interested in.
From Phuket during 2 daytrips to Raya Yai Island you will make 5 Adventure dives under the supervision of our instructors, learning new skills safely and becoming more confident in the water. Theory is mostly self-study from the PADI manuals going over the main aspects together with your instructor. We can also customize your course program so you will be able to make some of the dives on other dive trips like the Similan Islands or King Cruiser. The Advanced course program is very flexible and you can also do it at a slower pace than 2 days.
You become certified as an Advanced Open Water Diver as soon as you have 5 Adventure dives logged, from which 2 are Underwater Navigation and Deep Dive. The remaining 3 Adventure dives you can choose what interests you. Let us know what you want and we can make a course program that suits your requirements.
Prerequisites for the Advanced Open Water Course:
• Normal health (click here to check details)
• Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or have a entry-level certification from another training organization
• Be 12 years or older
NOTE! Course price is calculated based on 2 daytrips to Raya Yai(Phuket). In case you want customized program with dives to other destinations that are further away (for example Similan), we will re-calculate your course price to you.
